SmackDown 20.10.2023

Finally, the Radint Team is back in San Antonio, Texas!

Hello, guys. It's time for a quick review of the freshest SmackDown and all the events that happened that day.

The opening segment of the show featured the legendary Paul Heyman and LA Knight. Yeah! As usual, The Wise Man was talking about the Tribal Chief and how great this man is. But Mr. Heyman didn't forget about LA Knight's achievements. He acknowledged him but gave no chance of winning against Roman Reigns. "At Crown Jewel, you, Tribal Chief, will smash LA Knight!" Of course, the Mega star could not stay aside from these insults and came to the ring with a fiery answer to the Wise Man of the Bloodline. As we understand, LA is very confident and will gladly see the Head of the Table next week at the contract signing. Well, we will see, Roman. This has been a huge event lately, as you may know. Acknowledging both wrestlers and moving on to the next

In the first match of the evening, the Street Profits continued their confrontation against LWO. By the way, can anyone tell me why Logan Paul got a title shot against Rey's title? If The Almighty won against Rey two weeks ago, it seems kind of absurd, if you ask me. Well, I hope Bobby will get his title opportunity in the future. Now, back to the match. Montez Ford and Santos showcased a beautiful and technical match. Most of the time, Santos was able to handle Ford. But in the end, the newly-minded Angelo took out Escobar by pushing him against the ring post. Joaquin Wilde and Cruz Del Toro tried to help their ally, but Dawkins made them pay for that. I have no idea why WWE made these guys seem so weak. I hope, in the future, they will get some kind of push because right now, I see zero point in them.In the end, Montez was able to execute a dirty roll-up, and the referee counted to 3. After the match was over, the Street Profits launched a cruel attack on Escobar, but Carlito appeared and saved his buddy with a steel chair. I guess at Crown Jewel, we will see some kind of 3-on-3 tag team match against LWO and Street Profits, accompanied by Bobby Lashley.

Next, we were pleased with the appearance of our John Cena. GOAT was warmly welcomed in Texas. People paid respect to the greatest WWE superstar. John said that time is moving forward, and he is not getting any younger. In this moment, I thought that he might be hinting at retirement. He also mentioned that about 2000 days ago, he had his last solo victory in WWE. People chanted, 'You still got it!' In my opinion, that was a very touching moment, and Cena was fired up as usual by the fans' reactions, challenging anyone for a match. Honestly, I was waiting for any superstar to answer, but the Bloodline heard the call. First, Solo came out, and then Jimmy Uso came to aid his brother. But this time, John was not alone. The man in black took out Jimmy, and of course, it was Jey Uso. A taste of revenge after Raw, where Jimmy cost his brother the Tag Team titles. In the end, John stood one-on-one with Solo, and one AA ended this confrontation. Fans were happy, and we can now move on.

After this, the camera showed us backstage where the new SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis, confronted Jey Uso. He fined him $10,000, as well as his brother Jimmy. He also demanded that both brothers be escorted out of the building. In the last second, we saw a confrontation between the two managers. I guess this will be the beginning of some kind of Survivor Series main plot. I'm so excited about this potential rivalry and the confrontation between the main brand leaders, Adam and Nick. Let's see what will happen on Raw. Maybe some invasions from SmackDown.

One of the most important moments of the evening: Logan Paul face-to-face with the legendary Rey Mysterio. Paul came out first. As usual, people were not too happy about his return, and neither am I. A part-timer who gets title shots every time. Come on, what is that? Once, Triple H said, 'It is good for business.' I can agree, but is this really the best for the viewers? Tell me your attitude toward Logan Paul and part-timers in general. As he always does, Paul ran his mouth, spoke about boxing, and some other staff, but in general, absolutely nothing interesting. At one moment, Rey came to the ring and gave a straightforward answer that he has no problem kicking Paul's ass at Crown Jewel. In the end, Maverick extended his hand to Rey, and eventually, they shook hands. I was waiting for a cheap shot from Logan, and this was a surprise for me that he decided not to.

Next on our list is Austin Theory & Grayson Waller vs Dragon Lee & Cameron Grimes. I can't say much about this match; it wasn't long. The faces were in a leading position, but in a couple of moments, Grayson threw Dragon Lee to the timekeeper's area, some teamwork, and ATD. One, two, three, and the bad boys took the victory. In my opinion, they have good potential, and possibly in the future, they can win the Tag Team titles. Good luck to Dragon and Cameron, but I'm not sure that in the nearest future, WWE will be able to fully unleash their potential. Moving on.

A short but pretty funny moment was shown during Pretty Deadly's Spa Day. I personally love these guys they really know how to entertain. Right now, they've had a feud with the Brawling Bruits, and last week, the long-haired boys stole a victory. I think next week, we may possibly witness another match or even a match on a PLE event opening, for example. Why not? I think they will be future huge stars, and people love them. Do you?

Time for our main event! Io Shirai versus Charlotte. A classical match between the Terminator and the tiny girl who knows how to fly. I really like how Io wrestles. In NXT, she was The Boss. I was really impressed by her ring skills. Sadly, WWE does not let her speak for herself. Because of that, her title reign is not as bright and memorable, and I am scared that it will soon end. So sad, so bad. As for the match, Charlotte dominated. So unexpected, huh? But Io, with a little bit of her friend's help, could take her title, and Flair speared herself against the title. Victory for the champion. After the match, the Damage CTRL girls wanted to show Charlotte a lesson, but...

Yeah, you're right. Bianca Belair is back. Honestly, I thought that Jade Cargill would show up because she was seen with Charlotte last on Raw. I've never seen her in AEW, but she is super hot, so I'm excited to see her in the ring soon. Back to the ring, Belair was on fire and single-handedly dealt with all of Damage CTRL. The champion and her friends retreated, and Flair and Bianca celebrated this small victory. As I understand it, at Crown Jewel, we will see a triple threat match for the title. I guess we've seen it not long ago. I think you remember.

I'd give this SmackDown episode a 6/10. It was quite typical, and the matches were predictable. The Rey and Paul segment had a small intrigue when they eventually shook hands. LA Knight is beautiful, as usual. John will have another match with the Bloodline, which is also good for us. The comeback of Bianca is kind of a surprise. What do YOU think about this show? Leave your thoughts and comments, please! :) See you next time on Raw, and have a nice day.
